Fifty Shades fans all around the globe are now on the countdown to an event that’s taking place next summer – the Fifty Shades movie release! August 01, 2014 is the day where all the daydreaming becomes a reality and we see Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in live action for the very first time. While the movie details have been slowly building for several months now, the more recent weeks have seen at a lot of action!

Back in early 2013, we learned that E L James, the author of the Fifty Shades trilogy, had chosen Kelly Marcel to turn her three novels into a screenplay. She came out right away and let everyone know that she wouldn’t be turning the three hottest novels of the year into some PG-13 rates rom–com.

“[There] is going to be a lot of sex in the film,” she says breezily. “It will be rated NC-17. It’s going to be raunchy.” While they are not toning it down — “We are 100% going there” — some of the sex scenes have had to be edited out in order to get some plot in. “We did go through and decide which our favorites and which are not,” she concedes. “Most of them are in there, but I can’t say more than that.”

More recently, we found out who will be playing the iconic roles of Anastasia and Christian. Months of speculation had put a few fan favorites firmly at the top of their lists – Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder being the two most popular. The actress to play Anastasia wasn’t as firm in many fans’ minds, with names like Alexis Bledel, Mila Kunis, and Kristen Stewart is one of the many mentioned. All the waiting came to a halt earlier this summer, though, when E L James announced on her Twitter that Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnman would be taking up the lead roles in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.

And now the wait begins. We know who the producer and the director are. We’ve now found out who will be playing Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. In the coming months, we will probably hear a few more names of supporting characters. With filming expected to start in the coming months, we could be seeing a teaser trailer as early as this spring.
